Little Compton, Rhode Island Wedding from Charmed Places

March 29, 2013 – Stephanie Weers

Oh New England, how I heart you so. As one of the newest residents to this coastal region, I can say it embodies every bit of charm it’s bragged up to plus more. But rather than take my word, turn to this Rhode Island affair set in the heart of it all. Charmed Places made certain no detail went untouched, and Josh Goleman was there to capture each and every bit. It’s the perfect Friday pick-me-up, and you can get your pinspiration (or rather, pin-worthy inspiration) on in the full gallery right here.

From the Bride + Groom…In addition to getting married, of course, our dream was to build a lush and memorable weekend experience for our family and friends. It was quite humbling to know so many loved ones from all over the country were planning to gather in one place…for us. We chose the Stone House in Rhode Island for several reasons. We fell in love with it’s wonderful mix of historic charm and modern amenities, it’s peaceful, serene setting and the fact we could book the entire property, giving us exclusive use for three days. Additionally, we were very impressed with the personality and warmth of the staff. We are both creative professionals and wanted to be sure the magic of the weekend would be documented in a beautiful and artful way. Enter photographer Josh Goleman. Months prior, we set up a meeting with Josh and instantly clicked with his work and how he carried himself. We are beyond happy with how he and his business partner (and wife) Murphy, handled the challenge and we’re still blown away by the quality of the images.

As for the other seemingly millions of things that had to come together, we brought on wedding and event planner Lydia FitzGerald. Lydia was remarkable. She kept us on track to get things done [on schedule] over the course of several months leading up to the big day. The amount of work that went into planning and preparation was staggering but completely worth it. We worked with a very talented local florist, Mark, of ‘Arranged Occasions’. Mark absolutely nailed what we were looking for and provided so much more…all with a genuine smile on his face. The food was masterfully prepared and served by Russell Morin Fine Catering. Russell Morin also provided a taco-truck inspired meal for our rehearsal dinner as well as a fresh and hearty buffet for our farewell brunch.

In the end, our dream came true. Everyone we hired felt more like partners and friends through the entire process. We loved the weekend so much, that after the last person departed on Sunday, we couldn’t bring ourselves to leave. We stayed for four more days. The overall experience was truly invaluable and will forever live in our hearts.

From Lydia of Charmed Places…..The choices that Christy and Scott made with regard to the look and feel of their wedding day and weekend, were very representative of their personalities: creative, ethereal and romantic with a modern twist. Each decision was made from the heart which in turn translated into an environment filled with warmth, beauty and love – there is nowhere else i would have wanted to be on this particular weekend, except celebrating with Christy and Scott.
